Latest JAMB News on our news desk is about the much awaited and anticipated JAMB cut off marks for 2019. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management has disclosed that it has not published the national and general minimum cut-off marks for placement of candidates into the nation’s tertiary institutions as was being disclosed by certain persons and portals.

Speaking on this issue, the UTME board Head of Media and Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview he had with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, 6th of June, in Lagos State.

According to the board’s head of Media and information, there is no truth behind the speculations of JAMB cut off marks being released adding that some persons, whom he described as fraudulent elements were behind the development with a ploy to defraud candidates who participated in the recently concluded 2019 JAMB examination.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin went further to disclose that the cut off marks could only be arrived at with the inputs of critical stakeholders in the education sector, and the meeting between the board and stakeholders has been scheduled for days ahead.

Speaking on this issue, the board’s head of media and information said and I quote below;

“We want to seize this opportunity to caution all concerned Nigerians, especially candidates who participated in the just concluded JAMB UTME, not to allow themselves to be swindled by these desperate individuals that are peddling this rumor of JAMB cut off marks being released.

“The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) management is yet to come up with any specified cut-off mark for placements into the various tertiary institutions across the country. Take note that the cut-off marks cannot be decided upon without the input of critical stakeholders of the education sector at an elaborate policy meeting,”

Speaking on the date when the official JAMB cut off marksBenjamin explained that the next policy meeting would be held on Tuesday, June 11, at Gbongan in Osun state, Nigeria.

The UTME media and information head further disclose that preparations for the meeting had been finalized, adding that officials of the Ministry of Education were expected to attend the meeting. Other notable people expected to attend the meeting includes key stakeholders who are to grace the occasion to determine the national cut-off mark for tertiary institutions.

The JAMB spokesman said that it was only after this had been achieved that the candidates would be availed of the cut-off marks of the various tertiary institutions across the country.

Final Conclusion.

Fabian Benjamin further disclosed this, saying that; “The cut-off marks are the minimum points required for every institution and that does not mean by attaining such cut-off mark in JAMB, the said candidate will have an automatic placement into schools of the first choice. Don’t forget that the cut off mark ONLY qualifies you for your Post UTME screening or Screening, depending on the school you selected as your choice selection, and their method of admission this session.
