Latest news reaching us today is that the Federal government of Nigeria has officially canceled the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examination for Nigerian candidates.
No doubt, a few days ago, we published an authorized and confirmed report, saying that the WAEC examination to hold from August 4 to September 2020. But it seems the federal government can’t withstand the COVID-19 pandemic and is afraid of it going viral.
The Nigerian government has today, announced that Nigerian students will not be participating in the forthcoming West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations.
This announcement was shared by the Nigerian Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who disclosed this to newsmen after the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020.
Mallam Adamu Adamu further disclosed that there is no date yet for school resumption (tertiary institutions and otherwise). He also added that he will prefer Nigerian students to lose an academic year than expose them to danger of the COVID-19 pandemic.
