The false message which has been spreading like wildfire has been shared over and over again especially on the WhatsApp messaging App.
The message reads:
“All UTME Candidates whose examination dates was scheduled between Monday, 23rd March – Saturday, 4th April 2020 should take note that their examination date has been rescheduled for Tomorrow, Friday, 20th March and Saturday, 21st March 2020. Quickly responding to this false claim that may have reached thousands of candidates, the authorities swiftly released a message to counter this. Responding to questions about the purported timetable change, the Director of Public Relations, JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said and we quote:
“The Board has not rescheduled its examination as being speculated. “However, all examination will be finishing on Saturday with only a few centers in Bayelsa and Rivers who will be writing in the early days of next week.
“The Board has deemed it fit to give candidates the best, and has, therefore, adjusted the schedules of the remaining candidates in these two states and have contacted the few candidates to reprint their slips.
“All candidates who were scheduled to write the examination in Rivers and Bayelsa states respectively, are urged to reprint their slip immediately. It’s is not a general thing as is being rumored on Whatsapp.”
