JAMB candidates jailed for vandalizing CBT Centre In Ex President Hometown

The ongoing JAMB CBT examination in Ex-president’s Goodluck Jonathan’s hometown came to a halt, when four (4) candidates slated to partake in the UTME were arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for vandalizing a Computer Based Test Centre (CBT) at Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

The four (4) male suspects who were arrested at a Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre in Federal University, Otuoke, were accused of obstructing the examination at the center and destroying some properties on Tuesday, 22nd of June 2021.

Speaking on the arrest, the State Commandant of the Corps, Mrs. Christiana Abiakam-Omanu disclosed that the suspects were, however, allowed to sit for their examination before they were arrested.

Reemphasizing their support for a calm environment, the NSCDC commandant said that they won’t be tolerating vandalism of government infrastructure, disclosing that investigation is still going on to get other suspects, where they’ll be made to face the full weight of the law.

The four suspects who admitted to committing the offense, regretted their actions and appealed for leniency from the government.
