SSCE Requirement.

Before you choose Pharmacy as your course during your UTME registration, you must be a science student for you to study Pharmacy in Nigeria Universities.

WAEC Subject Combination and Requirements for Pharmacy.

Candidates seeking admission into any Nigerian tertiary institution to study Pharmacy, should note that you are required to have at least, 5 credits on the required WAEC subject combination needed to study Pharmacy in Nigeria universities.

Note that this Waec subject combination is also applicable to other O’level exams such as NECO & GCE. These are the O’level (WAEC, NECO, GCE) subject requirement for Pharmacy includes the following:

Candidates should note that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is 100% responsible for admission into the Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education. This means that if you are seeking for admission into a Nigerian tertiary institution through JAMB, you should the compulsory JAMB subjects for Pharmacy.

It is important to note here that if Mathematics is not listed among the JAMB subjects combination on this page, then Mathematics is not compulsory for Pharmacy. If you are seeking admission into any Nigerian University to study this course via JAMB UTME, you will study Pharmacy for four years. However, candidates admitted through JAMB Direct Entry will spend three (3) years.

Pharmacy is under which faculty?

Going through the JAMB syllabus, Pharmacy is under the Faculty/School/College of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Science. However, other institutions in Nigeria may put this course under a different faculty.

Can a science or art student study Pharmacy?

If you are an Art or Commercial student, the answer is capital No! you can’t study Pharmacy at the university with your O’level result, except you choose to rewrite your Waec, Neco or GCE examination. Pharmacy is a pure science course.
