Breaking news reaching our news desk this Morning, is that a total number of 62, 140 UTME candidates, will be rewriting the JAMB examination on 1st July 2017. The major reason why some candidates are happy is because of their previous UTME scores. Candidates who scored below and are rewriting the JAMB 2017 examination, are hoping to score better, While candidates who wrote the 2017 UTME and scored higher, who got their result cancelled and to rewrite again, are extremely sad and anxious.

According to the JAMB head of Media and Information, Mr. Fabian Benjamin who disclosed, that the JAMB management has fixed 1st July for 62,140 Candidates to Rewrite the 2017 UTME. The previous results of these candidates have therefore been cancelled, and even if they go to their jamb profile, their result won’t display. This information was confirmed by The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, at a press briefing after the board’s management meeting in FCT. Abuja.
The 62,140 candidates who have been drafted to rewrite the jamb exam, include 57,646 candidates in centres-induced malpractice, 3,811 who were involved in late registration, and 683 candidates who had biometric challenges.
The Jamb registrar further disclosed and went on to explained that the rescheduled examination, was also for candidates of centres with mass malpractice, but the candidates were deemed innocent.
A total of Forty Eight (48) centres have therefore been banned from conducting any future JAMB exam, as a result of gross technical deficiencies, pure extortion from candidates, organised examination malpractice and other damaging infractions, as concluded by JAMB after the board’s management meeting in Abuja.
However, a total number of 24 other centres located all over the country, were suspended from next year’s JAMB for not meeting expectations required for the success of the exam in their centres.
The Reigstrar further disclosed, that the board believes the candidates, who will be re-writing the UTME exams will be duly notified via email, their registered phone number and may be required to reprint their JAMB Exam Slip in due time.
