News reaching of desk is concerning the cult crash in AAU. There was a chaos in Ekpoma in which one student of Ambrose Alli University was shot dead during a clash by rival cult groups.
WE gathered that, mobile policemen took over the university, yesterday, following the crisis which, resulting in the coming of Students Union Government (SUG) election.
The Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Foluso Adebanjo, who personally confirmed that one person was shot dead, disclosed that about seven persons had been arrested and vowed to crack down on the culprits of the violence.
It was well read that crisis slowed from the battle by rival cult groups in the university and determined to impose their members as leaders of the SUG. Meanwhile, some armed students were said to have started the shooting at about 5pm on Friday at the university gate.
However, the fight advanced to the university town as members of the rival cult groups inaugurated house to house search of their targets. It was in that process that one student was shot dead. The shooting continued prompting the Edo CP to deploy more policemen to the area.
