ASUU eight (8) Month old strike has been called off
Latest educational news reaching us today is coming directly from the State capital, which indicates that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off its eight (8) month strike.
According to information our correspondent sent us, the striking Union arrived at the latest decision to suspend its strike after a marathon meeting held with the Federal government and other bodies.
According to the latest report, members of the Union decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours today, Friday, October 14th, 2022.
The Court of Appeal had ordered ASUU to suspend the strike before its appeal of the ruling ordering lecturers to resume work can be heard.
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) union’s National Executive Committee, which is made up of the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive, attended the meeting at the ASUU National Secretariat in FCT, Abuja.
