UNIABUJA To Charge N200,000 PG Exam Fees

Well, it seems things are really getting more costlier in Nigeria capital, FCT Abuja as the University of Abuja (uniabuja) has just increased their post graduate examination fees to the mind shattering sum of two hundred thousand Naira only.

However, this does not went down well, as there is disquiet at University of Abuja, following the decision of the management to introduce an examination fees regime under which students pursuing doctor of philosophy, Ph. D, and masters programmes are to pay N200,000 and N150,000, respectively for their programmes.

This amount announced through a circular which was issued by the Dean, Post-Graduate School of the university, Prof. E. J. C. Nwana.

Stating that the examination fees, which is considered totally arbitrary and exorbitant by students, are separate from the fees which is charged by the university of Abuja for Post Graduates courses.

The University of Abuja (uniabuja) management board added more than doubled fees for masters programme, which was forty one thousand, four hundred naira only (N41,400) for sciences and Fifty five thousand, nine hundred naira (N55,900) Only for Arts) and was increased to Ninety nine thousand, five hundred naira only (N99,500) for sciences and N114,000 for arts.

Someone even disclosed that the Noun postgraduate fee is better and way cheaper than this!

The increases, according to the circular, took effect from 2014/2015 academic session and school fees are to be paid every session by the Post Graduate students and there will be no clearance if any arrears are unpaid.

Please take note that some of the PG students, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard, complained bitterly over the charges for external defence of thesis and dissertation as the university had no such fees when they were admitted to commence their study.

THE school management should please give a good reason as to why they increased this fee by 100%.
