Preparations for SUG Election in UNIABUJA To Commence 3rd of June, 2014

It’s hardly 1 week after the restoration of the students’ union government (SUG) in university of Abuja (UniAbuja), The academic community is eager and very excited again with electoral activities that will see the election of leaders who will steer the affairs of the students for the 2014/2015 academic session.

Also following the lifting of ban on campaigns by the University of Abuja management, alongside Independent Electoral Committee UNI-ABUJA IEC) led by Comrade John paul.

All electoral candidates contesting for the coveted presidential seat of the union have already start rolling out their drums ahead of the elections, which is billed to hold next week Tuesday, the 3rd of June, 2014.

Also replicating the scene of a national election, every nook and cranny of Uni-Abuja and its immediate communities have been awash with campaign posters, fliers, banners and billboards of aspirants, bearing their photographs, various campaign inscriptions and slogans.

At the current head count, more than Ten (10) different persons (SUG aspirants) have shown interest in becoming the Student Union Government (SUG) president.

Just to mention a few of the candidates running for election, there is:
Baba Tee Of Law Department.
Pelumi Of Law Department,
Ben Of Chemistry Department,
Prof Alex of Environmental Education,
Nd Shayo Of Theatre Art

These names are topping The List of contestants mostly talked about by the over 25,000 students of the university.

A correspondent for Dailyschoolnews Nigeria said that the election is becoming interesting as all candidates are mobilising people to vote for them.
