Latest information reaching our Education desk is that one of the most popular school in Nigeria Obafemi Awolowo University has just been officially ranked the best university in Nigeria for the fifth consecutive time by cybermetrics. Meanwhile, the universities of Lagos (unilag) came second and University of Ilorin came third according to the list.
The Public Relations Officer, OAU, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, made a official statement today, where he disclosed that the university has attained this enviable position based on the fact that the curricular, research, academic and general administration of the university is the best in Nigeria.
Also speaking on this issue, the Vice chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Prof. Bamitale Omole also added to the speech that this is the first time in the history of higher education in Nigeria a university will maintain such position for 5 consecutive times without been pushed to second place.
With Joy in their heart, Prof. Bamitale Omole has attributed this feat to the hard work and dedication to duty of the academic, the administrative and technical members of staff, also adding that as the Vice Chancellor, he would not rest until the university attains the best in Africa and one of the top ten in the world.
Giving a concluding statement, Mr.Abiodun Olarewaju said that the Government and the Alumni of the Obafemi Awolowo University tertiary institution to invest more funds and assist in the overall development of the institution.
