Delta State Polytechnic (Delsu) Student Sentenced To Death For Robbery

It is so sad that a student can as young as 22 years old, has been sentenced to death for robbery. According to latest information reaching our news desk, a 22 year-old student of Delta State Polytechnic, Eguono Akpeghughu, has been sentenced to death after he was found guilty of armed robbery by a high court in Warri, Capital of Delta State.

Egouono was found guilty on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery after he was alleged to have robbed his victim of cash and other valuables which are worth over thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) only.

According to the high court which sentenced Eguono, the prosecution proved essential ingredients of armed robbery against the accused beyond all reasonable doubt from the totality of evidence which was presented before the court.

The 22 year old student, Eguono Akpeghughu was caught during one of his arm robbery attack with the help of a passerby as he attempted to escape with his stolen items, and the passerby raised alarm while his other gang members escaped, but unfortunately, he was not lucky as the mob caught him and handed him over to the Nigeria police force.
