Accreditation: FG to Convey UniAbuja Engineering Students To Other Varsities

Latest educative news reaching the Dailyschoolnews team today is that the Federal Government is planning to shift the Engineering students of the University of Abuja (Uniabuja) to other federal universities.
This is to say that students of the Engineering Faculty had already started a protest over the failure of the University management to secure accreditation for their programme even after a grace of six months given by the Federal Government which had suspended the programme.
The Minister Of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufai Ahmed, said yesterday that the universities where the Engineering students are to be reposition have already been acquaint.
The minister also pointed out that this would make way for the Engineering programme to gain fresh accreditation.
The minister of education also spoke in Abuja after a delegation of the National Association of Nigerian Students which was led by its President, Yinka Gbadebo, who appealed to the Federal Government to set up an emergency fund to purchase all the necessary equipments needed to facilitate accreditation for the Engineering faculty of the academic institution.
You would recalled that the protracted crisis rocking the University of Abuja got to crescendo on the 20th of November, 2012 when the authorities of the academic institution closed down the institution following a two-day protest by the students.
