i am not in support of this, but according to information here on our News Desk, the ongoing strike by ASUU has taken another dimension at the University of Jos (also known as UNIJOS) as the ASUU chapter of the university has condemned the Nigeria varsities authorities of the institution for conducting post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) test while the union was on strike.
This is so serious that he called for the outright cancellation of the post utme examination exercise.
While speaking to reputable Newsmen after its congress in Jos, the chapter chairman, Dr David Jangkam, said the use of non-academic staff to conduct a test that was purely academic was wrong and contravened the laid down procedures.
Dr David Jangkam said since the strike was total, comprehensive and indefinite, and this is to say that is suppose to be no academic activities in whatever form until the strike was suspended.
Dr David Jangkam also pointed out that other universities which had set dates and time for the post-UTME indefinitely suspended the exercise, due to the ongoing national strike, adding that instead of doing same, University of Jos conducted the test using non-academic staff of the university.
