Out of fifteen thousand (15,000) applicants, only Six thousand, four hundred and thirty eight (6, 438) students were admitted, who applied for admission into the Auchi Polytechnics.

According to the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Dr Philipa Idogho, who shared some vital information with us, said that only 6,438 out of 15,000 candidates were offered admission for the 2013/2014 academic session.

The Rector disclosed this to our correspondent at the 31st Matriculation ceremony of the institution at Auchi, we quote as she said:

“This year, we are matriculating 6,438 students out of the thousands of candidates that participated in our admission screening exercise.
I urge you to take full advantage of this privilege of the admission by working studiously to attain your goals and ambition in this institution.
On our part, we will do all we need to do to make you men and women of character,’’

Mrs Idogho beseeched all the students who were matriculating to count themselves providential and advised them to maintain the same level of academic excellence, while in the school.

She also went further implore them to subject themselves to the rules and regulations of the Academic institution (AuchiPoly), saying that it was the only way they can have a fulfilled stay at the institution without ever getting expelled by the school authorities.

According to Mr Idogho, who said and we quote “The rules binding all students expect that students are disciplined, attend 75 per cent lectures before they qualify to write examinations.
“The polytechnic is determined to make the learning environment conducive for you so that you can optimise your time for learning,’’ she said.

However, Rector Idogho scowled at the issue of examination malpractice and stressed the readiness of the authorities to stamp out all forms of crime and examination malpractice in the school, saying that the school management board is fully ready to tackle all forms of examination malpractice in the school, and any student caught in the act will face the school authorities and will be expelled from the school.

She also urged the fresh students to shun cultism, pointing out that cult membership was an avenue to self-destruction.

According to the Rector, who said that the school management council, distaste membership of cult groups.  As you settle down to your studies, be careful of the company you keep and the clubs and societies you belong to.
