No matter which point you look at it, it still looks and smells like a scam, even though the posters always claim that the message is coming “direct from Jamb Office Abuja.”

Here’s an identical message:

“Call:_081**1288*0 For help on how to upgrade your result to 250 and above.

“This message is direct from Jamb Office Abuja. So Call 081**1288*0 now to score above 250 and for checking and upgrading of score, Pending Results Issues call jamb head office on 081**1288*0 for help,” the Facebook notice posted on the 9th by one Prof-Oboh Andrew read.

We also discovered another person, this time around, using the popular commenting service, Disqus, with the name ‘United Bank’ to offer this same services.

Here’s their exact Post

“As i am talking to you right now, my jamb score has been upgraded to 251, thanks to this man, Mr. Johnson. i would also love to inform my friends, that they can also get an upgrade score just call him now. you can call his number 0805**225*1,”.

Not to mention other comments like this, which are all lies!

Nigeria is known as one of the countries with lots of Internet scams, and this time around, it’s Nigerians targeting Nigerians. Please, I would love to use this platform, to advise all our readers, don’t fall for this!

If this is possible, lots of people won’t be buying jamb forms again! you can basically pay them, and they’ll add up your scores, or even add your name in JAMB admission list. Use your brain.

The sad truth is that many candidates with JAMB low scores/points have fallen victims, mostly to money-related Ponzi schemes that could be boiled down to greed and low self-esteem, haste to be admitted and sometimes, abject stupidity.

Trust DSN Nigeria, we decided to call these people who will be helping candidates to upgrade their scores “100% guaranteed” and here’s our conversation! Enjoy.

The first number, which is published above, used in Prof-Oboh’s post, was answered by a male who confirmed that the service was available and asked that we call him back later.

When we called the ‘United Bank’ number, 0805**225*1, a distraught voice answered the phone.

This person who claims to be Unity Bank, told Faith, a Dailyschoolnews reporter, that he has been receiving calls from people needing to upgrade their scores but claims he knows nothing about a JAMB score upgrade.

We would love you, to help share this information on social media and alert unknown victims of this scheme to rip them off their hard earn money.
