Candidates will always need to either perform a Change of Course and/or Institution, after picking the wrong institution or course that does not align with their O’level results or picking the wrong institution for their course.
Candidates who wish to correct their data on the JAMB portal are welcome here. This page provides you with the complete and simple procedure on the following:

Using this medium, we’d love to reach out to all candidates who made mistakes/or wrongfully selected a course/institution while filling their UTME/DE forms during the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registration, so that they can now correct any mistakes ONLY in these categories:
Names Correction: Most candidates don’t know that using a wrong name arrangement will cause them more harm during admission, NYSC, etc. Candidates who notice this can correct it. The Name correction allows candidates to apply for the correction of names where there are spelling errors or an error in the arrangement, e.g. Surname, Firstname, or Lastname (Please take note that the Name Correction in JAMB can only be done once).
Date of Birth Correction: If you selected or the operator who registered you chose the wrong date/year of birth, you can change it. (Note that the Date of Birth Correction in JAMB can only be done once).
Passport Photograph Correction: The JAMB board announced that Passport photograph correction can only be done once.
Gender Correction: I have a friend with the wrong gender on his Voters card, and he can’t change it. The operator who registered him made the mistake. To change your Gender on JAMB, you may be required to provide documents proof. You’re allowed to do a gender correction just once.
State/LGA Correction: Supporting documents may be required. You can change this ONLY once.
JAMB Profile Data Correction: If there’s an error when creating your JAMB profile, you can use the Profile Data correction to resolve this. Take note that correction can only be done once.
Choice of Institution/Course Correction: This allows candidates to apply for a change of course or Institution (Correction can only be done as many times as the candidates want, but each correction will cost you Two thousand, five hundred Naira only.
JAMB Changes for Course/Institution and Data Correction Price.
According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the price for Changes for Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, and State/LGA of Origin will cost a candidate N2,500 (two thousand five hundred Naira only) to effect this change on the JAMB portal.
Note that this change will also reflect on your JAMB profile.

For 2024 candidates who either want to change their course and/or institution or perform a data correction, you should use this guide provided below.
- Open the official JAMB portal at http://www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.
- Next, use your Email and Password to login into your personalized dashboard.
- Click on ‘Registration (2023 only)’ from the list of services displayed on your screen.
- From the drop-down, select ‘2023 UTME Data Correction‘ / ‘2023 DE Data Correction depending on what you want to do.
- Finally, you must make payment first, because you can effect the change(s) you want. If you want to effect two changes, you are to pay for the two changes. (Two thousand five hundred Naira each.)
After payment, visit the closest JAMB office, or a JAMB-accredited center to complete the correction process.
JAMB Change of Course & Institution / Data Correction Procedure for 2024 Downward.
For some candidates who want to do a change of course and institution or Data correction for 2023, 2022, 2021, and downward, use the procedure below to change your data on the JAMB portal.
STEP 1: Visit the JAMB E-facility portal at https://www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility.
STEP 2: To perform anything on the JAMB portal, you must first Log in with your Email and Password to your JAMB profile dashboard.
STEP 3: Next, click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2023 Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
STEP 4: From the drop-down, you can simply choose any wrong details/information you wish to correct, i.e. Course/Institution, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin.
Important Note: Please take note that you may have to visit the JAMB Office in your state to effect some corrections. ALL CANDIDATES WHO WANT TO CHANGE COURSE/INSTITUTIONS OR PERFORM DATA CORRECTION SHOULD NOTE THAT THIS CAN NOT BE DONE BY PROXY. You need to do it yourself.
