According to a statement released this Monday, the United Kingdom (U.K) has opened applications for Nigerians and other foreign nationals who are interested in applying for this Visa, and they can now apply for the 2022 scale-up visa, starting from 22nd August 2022.

What is UK Scale-Up Visa?
A Scale-up Worker visa allows people from certain countries (Nigerians included), to move to the United Kingdom to do an eligible job for a fast-growing UK business (sometimes called a ‘scale-up business’). These are jobs where the pay isn’t too high, but there is room for growth, you’ll learn more, and earn money too.
However, the UK government has set specific eligibility criteria, rules and regulations that all employers interested in getting foreign national workers must meet, before they’re given to go-ahead to sponsor scale-up workers.

This Visa cost about £750 per person ( application fee) + ~£620 for NHS surcharge.

Qualification Requirements.
To qualify for the United Kingdom’s Scale-up Worker visa, you must meet the specific eligibility criteria as listed below:
- You must have a confirmed job offer to work for an approved scale-up business for at least 6 months before your application for this visa can be approved.
- You are required to provide (i.e, have) a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK to get your application approved.
- The UK government require you to have a job offer that is on the above list of eligible occupations
- be paid a minimum salary in your new job
