NYSC Orientation Camps in Nigeria.
Abia State.
If your camp is in Abia state, here’s how to locate it. On your way to Umuahia, come down at Bus stop gate in Umuahia, You’ll see a straight bus to camp from the bus stop. Tell them specifically that you want to go to the NYSC orientation camp of Abia state.
Anambra State.
The Anambra state NYSC orientation camp has changed. Here’s the new direction. Direction to the new Anambra Permanent NYSC Orientation Camp
Kano State.
If your camp is situated in Kano state, here’s how to locate the Orientation camp. On your way to Kano state, tell the driver to drop you at Unguwa uku. When he stops, you’ll see buses waiting to drop people at Karaye camp at the rate of 500 to 700 naira only. Take note that if the driver didn’t stop you at Unguwa uku, then stop at the final bus stop, Sabon-gari park at new road and there, you will need a Keke to Bata for 50 to 70 naira, from there, find a bus to Kabuga park, when you’d get to Kabuga park, board a bus to Karaye camp.
Jigawa State.
For corpers whose camp is in Jigawa state,here’s is how to go about it. If you are entering Jigawa state from Kano, take a bus going to Dutse, tell the driver that you will be stopping or alighting at the NYSC orientation camp in Fanisau, the journey usually last for about 1 hour, 30 minutes. The camp is located opposite an Army barrack.
Bauchi State.
Locating the Bauchi state Orientation camp is very simple. From the last bus stop in Bauchi, simply take a taxi to Muda Lawal park. At the Muda Lawal park, take another bus going to Wailo from the park. The NYSC orientation camp is located in Wailo.
Rivers State.
When you’d get to Port harcourt, the capital of Rivers state, stop at Eleme junction and ask for directions where Nonwa or Gokana buses are loading. When you’ve been directed, go and board a bus to the orientation camp. Make sure you’d tell the driver that you’re going to the camp, the NYSC orientation camp is along the road. The journey is about 20 – 30 minutes from the Nonwa or Gokana buses.
Oyo State.
If your orientation camp is in Oyo state, here is how to locate it. When you’d get to Ibadan, stop at Iwo road. From Iwo road,you are then expected to board a taxi which will charge you between 150 to 200 naira going to Ojoo and tell them to drop you at Iseyin park.
From Iseyin park, take a bus going to the NYSC orientation camp. You will be charged between 800 to 1,000 naira and it is a 2 hours journey.
Delta State.
For corpers coming to Delta state from Lagos state and the whole of South West or Benin, simply enter Asaba bus or Onitsha bus and tell the driver to drop you at Issele-Uku junction. When you’d get to the junction, cross the express highway and take a bike, telling the bike man to take you straight to the orientation camp. The price fare ranges between 70 naira to 100 naira.
While for those coming from Enugu state and the whole of South east, enter Onitsha bus and stop at upper Iweka. From upper Iweka,you are then expected to board an Asaba bus which will cost you between 150 to 200 naira and drop at Koko junction which is the last bus stop. From the Koko junction, you’ll see Issele-uku bus. Enter the bus and drop at Issele-Uku junction.
When you’d get to the junction, cross the express and take a bike straight to the orientation camp, which will range from 70 naira – 100 naira. The journey to Issele-uku from Asaba is about 25 minutes to 35 minutes.
Adamawa State.
From Yola, you are then required to board a taxi to Vinikilang. From Vinikilang, you need to take a Keke straight to the camp. You can also take a drop that will carry only you or you and your friends straight to the camp from whichever park you are arriving from. The price for a drop range from 300 Naira to 400 naira only.
Katsina State.
If you are coming from Kano state, you need to enter a bus going to Katsina state from the park in Katsina, you’ll get a bike straight to the camp, located at Mani road.
Nasarawa State.
For corpers who are going to Nasarawa sate and you are coming from FCT Abuja, board a bus and stop at Mararaba, and take about 200 naira bus to Keffi and tell the driver to stop you at the NYSC orientation camp.
Cross River State.
Corpers going to the NYSC orientation camp in Cross Rivers, here is how to arrive the camp safetly. If you are coming from Lagos or any South West States, stop at Calabar and take a straight bus to Obubra and tell them to stop you at Obubra junction. When you’ve arrived Obubra junction, simply call a bike and ask to be taken to the Nysc Orientation camp. You will be charged between 150 to 200 naira to be taken straight to the NYSC orientation camp.
If you are coming from FCT Abuja, enter a Calabar bus and tell the driver that you’ll be coming down at Obubra junction, at Obubra junction, enter a bike which will take you straight to the NYSC orientation camp.
While for those coming from Onitsha, stop at upper Iweka and enter IKOM motor, tell the driver that you’ll be coming down at Obubra junction. At the Obubra junction, board a bike and ask him to take you to the NYSC orientation camp which cost between 150 Naira to 200 Naira.
Sokoto State.
The Sokoto Orientation camp can be easily located. When you’re in the park in Sokoto city, get a bike man and tell him to take you to Wamakko. A bike man will charge you between 150 Naira to 250 naira, the camp is located at the left side of the road. You can either locate it yourself or ask the bikeman specifically for Orientation camp.
Kaduna State.
When you are in Kaduna city, enter a bus going to Chikun local government. When you have arrived the Chikun local government, tell the driver that you’re going to the NYSC orientation camp. The camp is located at the Kaduna/Abuja expressway. You will be charged between 150 – 300 Naira when coming from the city.
Kogi State.
Locating the orientation camp is very easy in Kogi state. From anywhere in Kogi state, board a bus going to Kabba, then stop at the last bus stop and board a bike to the NYSC orientation camp. It’s that simple.
Osun State.
Locating the Osun state NYSC orientation camp is not difficult and here’s how to go about it. For corpers going to the camp. Once you are Osogbo, enter a bus going to Ede, when you are in Ede, look for a bike that’ll take you straight to the NYSC orientation camp. The bike fare is between 100 – 150 Naira only.
If you are coming from Lagos state, Ibadan, Kogi, Abeokuta or FCT Abuja, here is how to locate it. Look for a bus going to Osun state, immediately you get to Ife or Ilesha, tell the driver that you’ll stop at Gbogan. Once you’re in Gbogan, you will take a direct bus to the camp which is very close and the fare is cheap.
Abuja.
This is for corpers going to the FCT Abuja Orientation camp. When you’re in the Federal capital territory, Abuja, stop at Jabi park, then from Jabi park, take a taxi or Keke to Wuse market and fromWuse market, board a bus going to Kubwa village.
Take note that the last bus stop is at Kubwa market, from the Kubwa market, the NYSC orientation camp is just a walking distance or you could just board a bike to the camp which is cheap.
Lagos State.
Lagos state Orientation camp is not difficult to locate. If you are coming from Ikeja, take a bus to Iyana Ipaja. When you’d get to Iyana Ipaja, take a bus directly to Agege or Iyapaja and tell the driver to stop you at the NYSC orientation camp.
However, if you are coming from Ojota, simply take a bus going to Oshodi. From Oshodi, take a bus to Iyana Ipaja and stop at their last bus stop which is under bridge, and from there, you need to take the road on the right where you were stopped and walk down straight or simply people around the bus stop where the nysc camp is located and they will direct you appropriately.
If you are coming from Oyingbo, take a bus going to costain. When you have arrived in Costain, take a bus to Ojuelegba and from Ojuelegba, take a bus going to Oshodi. From Oshodi, take a bus straight to Iyana Ipaja and stop at their last bus stop which is under bridge, then proceed and take the road on the right where you were stopped and walk down straight or you can ask people around the bus stop where the NYSC orientation camp is located and they will direct you to the Lagos state Orientation camp.
Ogun State.
The Ogun state camp is not too difficult to locate. For those coming from Lagos, you can simply take a direct bus to Sagamu, when the bus stops, enter a bike straight to the orientation camp.
However, if you are coming from Abeokuta, take a bus to Sagamu and when the bus stops, enter a bike and ask them to take you directly to the orientation camp. From Abeokuta to Sagamu is close to an hour.
Imo State.
The Imo state NYSC Orientation camp is located Nkwerre. If you are coming from Owerri, take a bus from Ama JK to Nkwerre. It is very important that you’d tell the driver that you’re going to the NYSC camp in Eziama Obaire Nkwerre, stop at Nkume junction and take a bike to the camp.
The distance from Owerri to the camp is between 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the road and traffic. The transport fare varies, the bus charge ranges between 300 – 500 Naira.
Enugu State.
Coming from any part of Nigeria please proceed to Enugu City. When you get to Enugu City, ask for direction to the Holy Ghost Park. In the Holy Ghost Park, ask for vehicles going to Awgu and board one of them which will take you straight to the NYSC Orientation camp.
However, if you are coming from Port Harcourt-Calabar Axis, then there is no need to get to Enugu City, just board a bus heading to Enugu, inform the driver that you will be stopping at Awgu NYSC Camp. Remind him again, once you have passed Okigwe.
But for the corpers who are coming by air, board an airplane to the Enugu Airport. From the terminal, hire a cab that will take you directly to the camp or you can get to Holy Ghost Park and board a vehicle which will take you straight to the NYSC Camp. A second option by air, is the Owerri Airport, from Owerri, you need to board a car going to Okigwe, from Okigwe you will easily get a cab that will take you to the Awgu NYSC camp.
Borno State.
If you are going to the Borno camp and you are coming from Kano state, simply inform the drivers that you’re going to Gumel in Jigawa state, they’ll direct you to a place where you can easily get a taxi. The taxi will take you to a busstop where you can easily get a straight bus to the College of Education, Gumel, where the temporary orientation camp is located.
Borno State has no permanent site for NYSC orientation camp, since the state is ravished by the menace of Boko Haram.
Yobe State.
For corpers coming from Kano state, get a direct bus going to Yobe. Take note that the camp is located at Potiskum. However, if you are coming directly from Lagos state, take a direct bus to Potiskum.
For those of you coming from Onitsha, take a direct bus to Potiskum.
Gombe State.
Going to the Gombe state camp is easy. From Gombe park, enter a straight bus which will take you to the camp. The orientation camp is located at Science Technical college, Amanda, km 21, Gombe-Bauchi Highway-near International Airport Gombe.
Akwa Ibom State.
From AKTC park which is situated in Uyo, there is a huge possibility that you will see a direct bus going to camp, but if there is none, no need to worry because there is another way to get to camp without problems.
Once you’re in AKTC park, take a Keke to a place called Plaza, walk down to Oron road and ask where they board Nsit Atai buses. Tell the Nsit Atai bus driver that you will be alighting at the NYSC camp.
Kwara State.
From Ilorin, you can take a bike directly to Maraba, that’s where you’ll get bus going to Yikpata camp. The bus will stop you at the camp entrance. The Kwara state NYSC orientation camp is in Yikpata camp.
Bayelsa State.
The way to Bayelsa NYSC camp is quick. From anywhere you are located in Nigeria, just take a bus going to Yenagoa and tell the driver to stop you at Mbiama (just before they enter Bayelsa). Once you are at Mbiama, you will see cabs going to Kaiama, join one and tell them you will stop at Kaiama park.
When you are in Kaiama park, take a direct bike to Byalsa state NYSC orientation camp.
Edo State.
Once you are in Benin city, take a bus going to Okada. From Okada, you’ll see a cab or bike that’ll take you straight to the orientation camp. The camp is located in a city.
Taraba State.
The NYSC orientation camp in Taraba state is located at Sibre Airport Road, Jalingo, which is the capital city of Taraba. On your way to Jalingo, ask the driver to simply drop you in the gate of the NYSC camp, because it’s located at the express.
Zamfara State.
Corpers going to the Zamfara camp can get there quickly depending on your route. If you are coming from Kaduna, stop at Kawo park, get a bike or taxi and tell them to take you to the NDA junction where Zamfara park is located. Once you’re there, get a bus going to Zamfara, the camp is along the road at Tsafe Local Government Area.
Benue State.
The NYSC orientation camp in Benue state is great. To get to this camp, ask the driver to take you to Makurdi last bus stop, then proceed and cross to the other side of the road, and directly in front of Winners Chapel church, there are cars going to Gboko. You can ask any of the cabs going from Gboko that you will be alighting at the NYSC camp just after police college by the road side.
Plateau State.
For corpers coming from Jos, take a straight bus to Mangu where the orientation camp is located. You will be charged a transportation fare of about 500 naira. The journey will take 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how motorable the road is.
Ebonyi State.
Corpers coming from Abakaliki should simply enter a bus going to Afikpo Macgregor camp. Stop at the junction. Call any bikeman and ask him to take you directly to the NYSC camp.
Kebbi State.
From Mando park in Kaduna, get a vehicle going to Yauri/Kontagora, and ask the driver to stop you at Yauri. From Yauri, you can get a vehicle going to Koko.
When you alighted at Koko, you can get a direct cab straight to the orientation camp located at Dakingari.
For corpers coming from Ibadan, get a vehicle going to Kontagora, Niger state, then ask them to stop you at Kontagora and get a vehicle going to Koko. After dropping at Koko junction, get a straight cab to the orientation camp which is situated in Dakingari.
Niger State.
The Niger State Orientation camp is situated in Paiko. For those coming through Minna which is the capital city of Niger state, take a bike to Mobil filling station and take a bus straight to Paiko where the orientation camp is located.
Ekiti State.
Corpers who are comin from Ado-Ekiti can get a straight bus to the NYSC orientation camp which is located at Ise-Emure Ekiti. The price for the bus is between 300 Naira to 400 Naira.
Ondo State.
Corpers going to the Ondo state Orientation camp and are coming from Akure should take a taxi to Benin garage, where you’ll see a vehicle going to Ikare.
From the last bus stop, take a bike straight to the orientation camp.
