JAMB Latest News 2023: No More Biometric Thumbprint & Verification after Exam

The Latest JAMB news reaching our news desk this morning, is that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management has officially suspended Biometric Thumbprint and Verification after Examination for the 2023 session.

This news is coming today, Tuesday, 25 April 2023, when candidates nationwide, will be writing their JAMB examination.

Using this medium, the Dailyschoolnews Board would love to notify members of the general public, especially all candidates who have successfully registered for the 2023 UTME, and participating in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), that they are free to go to their respective homes immediately after submitting their answers.

Unlike previous years where candidates who have finished writing their examination must go through a biometric thumbprint verification for identity confirmation, the JAMB board has cancelled it this year. Candidates should go home without filing out again for another bio-metric verification or thumbprint.

According to the JAMB board, all candidates no longer have to wait or file in a straight line to be signed out through another round of biometric verification after submitting their answers.

According to the JAMB board, verification of candidates before the commencement of the examination is very much active, and candidates who did not verify themselves before entering the JAMB hall will not see their UTME result.

The introduction of biometrics by the board is to help get rid of all forms of malpractice in UTME to help curb malpractice, impersonation, and other forms of criminal activities.

However, candidates who have issues with their biometrics (that is, candidates whose biometrics thumbprint can’t be confirmed) will not be allowed to sit for the examination on the day of their examination, the board will communicate to affected candidates on the next step to follow.
