Using this medium, I’ll love to reach out to all UTME candidates of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) who scored 180 and above in their JAMB Examination and registered for the UNIPORT Post UTME screening.
This is in general, to all candidates seeking admission into the University of Port Harcourt for the 2020/2021 academic session.
It is no longer breaking news that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a setback on a lot of activities, especially in tertiary institutions following their modus-operandi, and this has also affected the delay in the Admission Exercise for the 2020/2021 academic session.
Following delays in the administration of the O’Level examinations for the year 2020 caused by COVID-19, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given a directive that institutions intending to hold Post UTME should hold on until the examinations were concluded.
However, there is another wave of the pandemic, and the management of the University of Port Harcourt is set to commence the Admission Exercise and needs candidates to note the following:
- Due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that has certainly put on hold, the physical Post UTME (screening) exercise, the University of Port Management will be screening its candidates using their O’Level results. This involved grading the candidates’ results.
- The University of Port admission office and Senate have approved a Screening Cut-off Score of 80. This Screening Cut-off Score qualifies a candidate for consideration while Programme Cut-offs qualify candidates for admission into the respective programs.
You should also note that the candidates’ screening scores would be added to their JAMB Scores to get their Average Scores. Candidates can check their Screening Scores by login into the Uniport’s Post-UTME portal. - However, the school management has disclosed that ONLY candidates without screening scores are requested to forward Scanned Copies of their O’Level results to the email address [email protected]. It is important that candidates forwarding their 0’level result to the email above MUST boldly write on the left top corner of the scanned Olevel results, their JAMB Registration number and departments and use their faculty as the subject of the Email. Submission ends on Friday, 15th January 2021.
- Candidates are also required to check the JAMB result portal and the University website regularly, to see their admission status. If you’re offered admission by Uniport, you need to accept the admission offer on the JAMB site.
