WAEC FInally Releases Results of Candidates of Indebted States

Recalled when the West Africa examination board (waec) disclosed that 19 states in the federal of Nigeria are yet to pay their candidate’s registration fee and if they refuse, they will with-hold the results of all candidates who participated in Waec for that particular state?

Well, that decision has been reversed, as the result of all candidates who partake in Waec for 2015 in the 19 indebted states have been released!

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) Management, has finally submitted to pressure been mounted on them to release the results of candidates for the May/June 2015 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), earlier withheld as a result of indebtedness by some states in the federation.

The main reason why the result was finally released is due to the intervention of the Nigeria Governors Forum and other stakeholders in the country, who had appealed to the examination body to reconsider its decision in view of the effect the withholding of the results would have on the future of the candidates who most of them, are already writing and registering for their post utme screening exercise.

Speaking on this issue is the Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu, who made this public through an announcement that they will be releasing the results, on Wednesday, at a joint news conference with the Deputy Director of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF), Alhaji L.O.T Shitu, after hours of dialogue on the debt owed the council by some states.

The head of the National WAEC office in Nigeria, Mr. Charles Eguridu went further to state that the very reason why they choose to release the result, is that disclosed that the council not to impede the educational progress of any Nigerian child.
