MOUAU Vice Chancellor Challenges ASUU

LATEST information reaching us today, is that the Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUAU), Professor Hillary Edeoga has come out with a straightforward statement, saying that the school management would not call back its member and Branch Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr U.A.U. Onyembinama, who was allegedly suspended by the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture last month for taking the suing the institution.

This announcement was published on the heels of an ultimatum, which was recently given by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to the school senate to recall its member and Branch Chairman of the union, Dr U.A.U. Onyembinama or face the full wrath of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

According to information we received, the Imo State, Owerri Zone of ASUU held her congress meeting at the university campus, Umudike, yesterday, where the union unanimously called on the University board, to immediately reverse the suspension or they would paralyzed academic activities in the institution till further notice.

Is Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUAU) on the verge of strike?

The drama did not stop there, because the Vice Chancellor of the institution reacted and here’s how he did it. The Vice chancellor, Prof. Edeoga said that the action of the university was prompted by the legal action which is instituted by the suspended ASUU branch chairman who decided to go against the stipulated condition of service of the university.

More information coming soon.
