ASUP Management Board Lauds move by Newly Appointed Education Minister to Resolve Strike

JUST after the meeting which was organized and convened by the newly appointed education minister to find a solution to the lingering Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) strike, the ASUP management board has lauded what was described as the “matured effort” of the new educational minister towards resolving the strike as a major breakthrough was recorded in the meeting.

According to the National Publicity Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, who disclosed to our correspondent that the minister demonstrated commitment in ensuring that the crisis in the nation’s polytechnics is resolved and everything is resolved fast so that the students can go back to their classroom.

The minister of education also went on to urged the striking lecturers to return to classes as the issues will soon be resolved, as he will personally see to that.

Also speaking on the issue, the ASUP president, Chibuzor Asomugha expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, which they union had with minister, although he said that the NEC members of the union will meet to deliberate on the outcome of the meeting and hopefully the strike will be called off soon.

We hope they call off the strike very soon.
