Latest news reaching our news desk this morning is that the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result for secondary school candidates has been released by the West African Examinations Council.
The WAEC’s Head of National Office, Patrick Areghan, who shared this information earlier, disclosed that the results were released 45 days after the last paper of the 2022 WAEC.
Recalled that the 2022 WAEC examination was held for six weeks, starting from the 16th of May to June 23, 2022.
The Head of WAEC national office, Patrick Areghan said and I quote;
“Currently, results of all candidates who participated in the 2022 WAEC exam are currently being uploaded on the waec result checking website. Candidates who particiapated in the examination and who have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Council can access their results on the Council’s results website starting now.
“Copies of the Result Listing will be sent to all official schools approved by the Council where candidates sat for the exam. I won’t forget to say here that the results of candidates sponsored by states who have not yet paid the Council will not be released now until they pay up. We appeal to them to do so to enable the affected schools/candidates access their results.”
Patrick Areghan further went on to disclose that some schools failed to upload their students’ Continuous Assessment Scores Capturing System at the required period of time, while some schools failed to meet registration deadlines, to the extent that some schools ended up not presenting their students for the examination.
The WAEC National Head said and I quote;
“Yet, some who registered their students off-line failed to upload their entries! This showed unacceptable level of nonchalance. Again, others failed to meet deadlines due to criminal ‘shopping’ for candidates. By the time they realised it, the window had closed.”
