It seems that there’s no ending to the ASUP Strike, and most polytechnics are seriously becoming aware of this fact, as some academic Institution are pulling out of the strike.
The fight by the Academic Staff of Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) is to ensure that their demands are met by the federal government before they return to classrooms, however, the Union may be suffering a setback with some polytechnics pulling out of the strike/fight by the Body.
The Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics publicly known as (ASUP) embarked on an indefinite strike action to force the Federal Government to implement the agreement reached with the union.
If you can remember correctly, you’ll re-called that on the 22nd of May, 2014, the federal Polytechnic, Bida pulled out of Asup Strike. Last Month, Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi also suspended the strike and resume academic activities.
The Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure in Jigawa State, has also pulled out of the strike and resume full academic activities.
And according to latest report reaching our publishing desk today, is that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Uwana Chapter has finally pulled out of the ongoing ASUP nationwide strike.
A Dailyschoolnews Nigeria correspondent was able to gather from a staff of the federal polytechnic, that students of the academic institution are expected to return back to school from the 2nd of June 2014 while lectures commence 9th June 2014.
