Corp Members will Start Receiving N33,000 as Allowance- NYSC DG Ibrahim Shuaibu

All serving NYSC corpers/members should be happy and glad now, because Shuaibu Ibrahim, who is the director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has disclosed that the monthly allowance of corp members has been increased from it previous N19,800 to N33,000 (Thirty-three thousand Naira).

The NYSC boss disclosed this information during a working visit to the NYSC secretariat in Bauchi.

The official Facebook page of the National Youth Service Corps also shared this information, citing that the NYSC Boss, Ibrahim did disclose that the increase is in line with the new minimum wage that was approved by the federal government of Nigeria.

The NYSC boss further said that provisions for the new allowance have been made in the 2020 budget and payment would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities. Take note that President Buhari in April 2019, signed the new minimum wage bill into law.

However, Ibrahim did not disclose when they will start paying corpers the N33,000 thousand Naira allawee, if it’s starting this month-end, next month ending, or in 2021. Let’s cross our fingers and expect the very best.

UPDATE: Today, 31st of January, 2020, the NYSC management starts paying corpers the 33,000 thousand Naira allowance.
