Well, Students in Nigeria Varsities are not taking any update from authorities which does not favour them kindly again. As there was a wild uproar at Alausa on Tuesday, as the Nigeria Police Force attach to the Lagos State governor’s office vehemently dispersed the protesting students of the Lagos State University (LASU).
As our able correspondent Faith, gathered, the Nigeria Policemen fired several canister of tear gas at the defenceless students who were obviously fighting for their rights.
A Correspondent of Dailychoolnews.com.ng was able to gathered that Journalists covering the protest were also not spared, as they Scampered in different direction with the embattle students for safety as the tear gas was offensive.
It would be recalled that, the protesting students, for the last two weeks, mounted peaceful protest at Governor Raji Fashola’s office over agitation for a reduction in their tuition fee increased by the state government.
Students of the Lagos State University (Lasu), had also vowed to continue with the protest peacefully at the state governor’s office, where they disclosed that they would remain there until the fee is reduced to N46, 500 as they normally pay.
Information reaching our news desk also disclosed that the students, who stormed the State House of Assembly in two luxury buses, were denied access into the Assembly complex as the police on the orders of an unnamed Assistant Commissioner of Police and RRS Commander ordered his men to disperse the protesting students with any kind of force.
We would also love to take you down memory lane, and if you would recalled, Students of the Lagos State University, Ojo, on Tuesday, barricaded the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, to protest the failure of the Lagos State government to accede to their request for reduction in their school fees.
The students, in their hundreds, barricaded the road at the Ikeja, along the road bus stop, reducing traffic to a crawling point which reached the ears of the governor.
