Nigeria Universities – Polytechnics and College of Education news Nigerian Educational News | Zenith Of Educational NewsThis is truly a heart breaking news, as the management board of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has asked a total number of two hundred and seventy (270) year one undergraduates to either withdraw or rewrite the Post-UTME test due to their involvement in irregularities in the previous screening test.
These alleged students did not give in as they kicked against the directive by authorities of the academic institution which had asked them to withdraw or rewrite the forthcoming post-UTME test.
According to the students, who disclosed that they could not understand the basis for re-writing the test, at a time they were just about preparing for their first year examination. Some students claimed to have entered the academic institution legally, and by right, they are fully registered students of the academic institution.
The affected students knows their right and the action which the school can or cannot take against them, as they have taken the case to a higher ground, as they have enlisted the services of a Human rights lawyer, Higher King, for legal advice.
When we cornered one of the effected students, he said that Uniport Senate is plainly toying with their destiny, which they would not allow to happen.
However, when we contacted the enlisted human rights lawyer, Higher King, who said that if the management board of UNIPORT, failed to respond to the appeal, he would go to court to seek legal redress for the affected students.
Also responding to the agitation of the affected students, the authorities of the University of Port Harcourt explained the circumstances surrounding the command given to the students.
According to the Deputy Registrar in charge of Information, Doctor Williams Wodi described those affected as candidates who are seeking admission into the university.
Wodi told reporters that the affected students were asked to withdraw or go through another round of screening, after it was discovered that they were involved in irregularities in the Post-UTME screening.
Wodi went further to state that the candidates were properly investigated by a panel, after which the management of the University of Port Harcourt, through the Senate decided to suspend their registration till they obeyed the directives or go home, since legally, they are NOT students of Uniport.

As of me I hav nothing to say but what I will advice but the student involved and the senate is that they should seek the face of God for them to kmow what to do bcause there is nothing impossible 4 God to do but both parties should fight against corruption bcause it can’t help.
