University of Ilorin (Unilorin) Expels 3 Students Over Internet and ATM Fraud

The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) which had on Tuesday, disclosed to the general public, that it had expelled three undergraduate students for internet fraud and theft.

The academic institution also reprimanded 40 other students of the academic institution for violating the university’s dress code.

According to reports on our news desk, one Adeyemi Daniel Oluwaseyi of the Basic Medical Sciences was found guilty of unlawfully taking possession of ATM card and PIN belonging to another student while Mkperedom Olalekan Okon of the Arts Faculty was found guilty of internet-related fraud.

The report also disclosed to us, that forty (40) undergraduates, who were found guilty of violating the institution’s dress code, had also received a strong warning and were asked to write an undertaking to be of good behaviour in the school.

The students were also directed to report to the Students’ Affairs Unit at 8:00 a.m. every Wednesday.

When our correspondent ask why the the dress code was instil in the school, she was informed that the dress code was one of the university’s measures to instil morals in students and staff.

According to a report in the university’s bulletin, which was published on Tuesday, four other students who were dragged before the institution’s Students Disciplinary Committee for theft were exonerated.

The bulletin also disclosed that two students, Fajimite Oluwafemi Ayomide and Ajayi Dorcas Oyiza of the Faculty of Communication and Information Science, who were also accused of examination malpractice, were also discharged and acquitted.
