UNILORIN Will Admits 7,800 Out Of 65,000 Applicants For 2015/2016 Session

We’ve just received and confirmed this information today, that the University of Ilorin (unilorin) management board has officially announced, that the school will only admits Seven Thousand, Eight hundred (7,800) number of students out of a total of Sixty five thousand (65,000) candidates who sat and partook in the post UTME examinations of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

According to information released by the vice chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali made this known during a press conference heralding the 40th anniversary of the institution in Ilorin yesterday.

Prof. Ambali disclosed this and we quote him directly:
Though many candidates had preference to study in the University of Ilorin (UNlLORIN) mainly because of its stable academic calendar and the level of seriousness the school uses to face her academic studies, the carrying capacity of the academic institution is just Seven thousand, eight hundred (7,800).

The Vice Chancellor also went forward to disclosed that the institution has the complete required infrastructure and human resources to accommodate more candidates.

BUT according to him, the Unilorin has the capacity to carry more than 7,800 students for the 2015/2016 academic institution, he also went further to said that the authorities of the institution had complained to the necessary quarters on the need to increase the university’s carrying capacity.

“The university has more facilities, more academic programmes, more good lecturers, more patronage in terms of candidates, and other needed infrastructures that can accommodate more students,” he stated.

While speaking on the reason for conducting UTME for a total number of 65,000 candidates, while the school truly understands and knows fully well that the university will only take 7,800, the vice chancellor said that the reason was borne out of the quest to have the best students admitted out of the best.

Ambali, who said that academic stability is the highest selling point of the university, added that the institution had been able to set sustainable standard “that is now envy of all universities in the country”.
