According to latest news reaching our news desk today, a 200-Level Computer Science student of the University of Ilorin, Mr John Usman, has just won the grand prize at a UNESCO contest, tagged “Pathways to a Culture of Peace”.

According to information we received from the Deputy Director in the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, who disclosed that the contest, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.

Mr. Kunle also disclosed to us that the contest was conducted on the 3 of December 2013 and Usman’s winning entry was a graphic design titled “The Nigeria of my Dream”.

“The contest, jointly organised by UNESCO, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz National Centre for Dialogue, brought together youths from over 30 countries,” he said.

Mr Kunle did not fail to share with us, his experience, as he said that the Contest/event was a gathering of positive-minded youth leaders from around the globe, who were impacting on their societies.

Thanks to Mr John Usman for making Nigerians proud, we really appreciate the good works.
