Using this dais, the dailyschoolnews Nigeria wishes to inform all members of the general public, that the University of Port harcourt (UNIPORT) management board, has finally approved the commencement of admission into the below mentioned certificate programme of the Sandwich and Skill Acquisition of the institute of education, which is currently in collaboration with the college of continuing education for the 2015/2016 academic session.

A. TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME

1. Department of Educational Foundations

Education Social Science: (This is for all candidates offering the following:

Department of Educational Foundations

1. This is for all applicants in Education Arts

(This course is for candidates offering the following:)

Admission Requirements For All Applicants:

All candidates who are interested in this programmes, should note that applicant is open to applicants who have any of the following minimum qualification listed below, in their different categories:

Department of Educational Management

1. All interested applicants, should note that the school requires you, to have a credit passes at the ordinary Level in at least three subjects in WASC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE, including at least a pass in English Language; for Economics or Accounting Option, credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory.
2. The school requires you, to have a credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subject in Teacher Grade Two Certificate including at least Merit in English Language. For Economics or Accounting option, you are required to have credit pass in Mathematics and Economics is compulsory.

Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology

1. All interested applicants, should note that the school requires you, to have a credit passes at the Ordinal Level in at least   three relevant subjects in WASC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE, including at least a pass in English Language.
2. The school requires you, to have a credit or Merit passes in at least three relevant subject in Teacher Grade Two Certificate including at least Credit or Merit in English Language.

Department of Educational Foundations

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Credit passes in Four (4) O/L subjects including English Language, Biology and Chemistry.

DURATION:

The duration of the Programme is from Four (4) weeks to Four (4) months (Weekends). One (1) year (Regular) and Two (2) years (Sandwich).

SPECIAL SHORT COURSES

Skills in various Trades (Vocational and Technical Education) are available. No academic qualification and aptitude test are required. Philanthropists, Women Organization, Corporate Bodies, Local and State Governments can empower their youths through this Programme.

DURATION

The duration of the Programme is from Four (4) weeks to Four (4) months (Weekends). One (1) year (Regular) and Two (2) years (Sandwich).

 METHOD OF APPLICATION (FOR A-F)

All applicants who are interested in applying for this programme, should note, that the application Form can be obtained online, after you’ve made a non-refundable payment of N8,150,00 (Eight Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Naira.

For A: Interested applicants should be informed that the application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira )

For F: All interested candidates should also note, that the application Forms are available, and can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N4,000.00 (Four Thousand) Naira.

Important Note

Using this medium, we hope that all candidates who are applying and purchasing the application Forms for the various programmes, are going to do it, entirely online.

You can achieve this, by logging on to the school portal at: www.uniport.edu.ng

When it loads up, proceed and click on “register” button, which can be located at the top menu bar of the portal. This will help you, to sign up and print out the payment slip.

Please, proceed to any of the designated Banks which are listed below and pay to obtain an eTranzact receipt.

When you have made a successful payment, please, proceed and login to your account and verify your payment using the Confirmation Order Number, which is on the e-Tranczact receipt.

Proceed and fill in the necessary information,
Then upload your passport photograph,
Finally, print your photocard for the Screening Test.

APPLICATION CLOSING DATE:

All interested applicants, should be aware that the sales of Application Forms for A-F) will Close on Friday, the 7th of August, 2015.

Also take note, that the sales of Form for the Short Courses is continuous, no closing date as they take place 3-5 times a year.

 SCREENING TEST

When you have successfully registered for the programme of your choice, then, you should fully be aware, that there will be a University Screening Test which will be a computer based test (CBT) and which will hold on a date, which the school board will released through DSN Nigeria.
