2014 NYSC Batch ‘B’ Orientation Programme Suspended In Six Nigeria States

ACCORDING to information reaching our news desk today, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) board of Directors has announced the suspension of scheduled stream two orientation programme of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ Orientation in six different states in Nigeria, which was already billed to commence on Monday, the 1st of September due to the dreaded Ebola virus disease in the country.

According to the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier General Johnson olawumi who announced the decision in Kubwa Orientation Camp in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja, said the corps members deployed to the underlisted states:
Adamawa State,
Bauchi State,
Jigawa State,
Borno State,
Gombe State,
Yobe State, will be affected by the directive.

The brigadier General also went on to assured the prospective corps members that they would not suffer unduly as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) board of directors would ensure that they were not cheated in any way by staying longer than necessary at home while their fellow Corps members would be serving the country.

If you can recall, the NYSC Stream Two exercise, which was previously meant for the affected northern states, is scheduled for Monday, the 1st of September to Monday, the 22nd of September 2014.

While other Corps members who have already been posted to Adamawa State will have their orientation programme in Niger;
While the Bauchi corps members are expected to resume in Plateau State orientation camp, and other corps members who were posted to Borno State are to proceed to the Nasarawa State camp.

Some NYSC corps are still confused about states which are affected, but don’t worry, we’ll surely get you updated here. Other affected states are Gombe, where corps members are expected to serve in Benue, with Jigawa State corps members expected to have their orientation programme in Kaduna.

It’s important to note that all Corps members who have been posted to Yobe State are expected to resume at the Federal Capital Territory Orientation camp.
