LAUTECH Thrown Into Mourning As Professor Ayeni Dies At Age 64

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LauTech) which is located in Ogbomoso just lost a rare Teacher, Adviser And Friend Of All, Professor R.O. Ayeni who died after a brief illness. Professor Ayeni died at the age of 64.

Professor Ayeni Was Born on June 9, 1948 at Owode-Ketu in Ogun State, Professor Ayeni attended the University of Ife, which is now known to this generation as the Obafemi Awolowo University, where he has successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1973. Professor Ayeni Obtained his bachelor degree in Mathematics, and at the Cornwell University, United States for a doctoral programme. He was the former President Of Mathematical Association of Nigeria.

He also Chaired the panel set up by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council. (NERDC) to provided curriculum on Mathematics for primary and secondary schools, which was later transformed into syllabus which is now currently being used by both WAEC and NECO.
