JAMB Announce Admission Deadline For 2014/2015 Candidates

THE Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management board has announced the Admission Deadline for 2014/2015 Admission Session. This is an official information and the www.Dailyschoolnews.com.ng board has confirmed it from the staffs of Jamb, that the JAMB Board has officially issued the deadline date for 2014/2015 admission exercise.

It’s important that all candidates seeking admission into Federal Universities, Private Universities, Polytechnics and College of Education should note that the admission timetable which was provided to all academic institutions has this information. Do take note that the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde, informed institutions and JAMB candidates about the admission deadline.

THE Governing Board of JAMB, Chairman, Mr Peter Eze, had on Monday, sincerely appealed to all tertiary institutions in Nigeria to please abide by the admissions timetable as adopted at JAMB’s policy meeting, which was held on the 1st of July this year. The Chairman, who was speaking at the first technical meeting on 2014 Admissions, held at the Multipurpose Hall, University of Lagos, disclosed this on Monday.

He went on to outlined other stipulations of the policy, still using the medium to urged all institutions, both Academic and tertiary institutions, to ‘adhere strictly to the guidelines’. He gave the percentage ratios for various forms of admissions, showing which areas of study or categories of students should be given preference.

Here’s his exact words:

60:40 (Science/Arts ratio)
70:30 (Technology/non-technology ratio)
The ratio of 40:40:20 (merit/catchment/educationally less developed areas) for state-owned institutions.

Private institutions on the other hand, are expected to give us acceptable and national ratio they want to adopt in the admissions exercise,’ he further stated.

Also speaking at the Technical meeting, is the the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of JAMB, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde, who announced that come the 31st of October, the admission board will close for the 2014/2015 academic session.

This is to say that, the 31st of October is the official deadline for 2014/15 session admission.
