Waec Update: Collect Your Waec Certificates Before December Or Get Penalized

Latest educational news reaching us today, is that the West Africa Examination Council, Has released an official statement, where they warn students to come and take their certificate before the last month of this year, or they should just face the penalty.

Latest information on our education news desk today, is that WAEC governing body has threatened to impose penalties on candidates who failed to collect their certificates on or before the 31st of December 2013.

This information, like i said above, was released in a statement, which was signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Mr Yusuf Ari, Mr Yusuf also made the information available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos state Nigeria.

According to the information sent by Mr Yusuf, Waec board have the certificate of millions of candidates who sat for WAEC examinations since 1960 had long been signed but were not collected by candidates.

Here is the statement:
We wish to inform the general public that certificates up to May/June 2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which was conducted by WAEC have been printed and dispatched to schools for collection by candidates.

This is also to inform all candidates that the certificates for external candidates for up to November/December 2012 WASSCE diet, also conducted by the Council have also been printed and are equally awaiting collection by candidates at WAEC offices nationwide.

Please, all external candidates, should note that they are required to visit the nearest WAEC office near them and this information, is especially for candidates who wrote the November/December examination diets, please we advised you to go and collect your certificates from all our zonal branches or satellite offices in the states.

We urge candidates to go to where they sat for the examination because we no longer have enough space to harbour them.

Most of these certificates have been lying fallow in our various offices with no one coming forward to collect them, and we have been keeping them safely for years now.

We have also noticed that candidates come in trickles for them, only when they have absolute need for them and I think it should not be so.

So using this educational Platform, the WAEC board therefore wish to warn that WAEC will be charging extra fee for the custody of these certificates if the candidates failed to collect them later than the 31st of December 2013.

  • Hi
I went to the waec office in Anambra state where I sat for my Nov/Dec GCE, 2007, with all their requirements and all the fees paid but they refered me to Lagos. Why can’t I get it there, why do I have to travel to lagos to get it.
Send me the address of the WAEC office in Lagos and their requirements for collecting the certificate via my email.
    Thanks
