Latest Update: ASUP/COEASU Meeting With FG Officials Still Ongoing

We would love to update all ASUP strike affected students about the currently ongoing ASUP/COEASU leadership meeting with the federal government. A dailyschoolnews correspondent who is currently at the venue, scooped that the meeting is now going on amidst COEASU National Executive Council in Abuja.

They are still deciding on whether to suspend the strike or not. According to various reports from all sub-committees, which have been submitted to Barr. nyesome Wike, the Honourable Minister of Education and it would be forwarded to President Goodluck Jonathan.

The meeting which was held today with the Federal government officials is not as a result of ending the strike immediately but to put a finishing touch on the reports of sub-committees and on how Federal Government would be prompt to the College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) and Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) issues.

The leadership of the ASUP union and the COEASU union has not yet reached a final decision on whether to suspend the strike or not. As i give out this write up, meeting is going on midst of COEASU EXCOS AND ASUP EXCOS!!
