ASUP Strike 2014 Update: ASUP President Says Strike May Be Call Off In Two Weeks

Latest educational news reaching our news desk today, is that the STRIKE which was embarked upon by the Academic staff union of Polytechnics, is expected to be called off within the next two weeks.

So therefore, using this platform, we wish to inform all Nigerian, but most especially, all Nigerians polytechnics students that the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, will be call off in two weeks following an early intervention by the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan.

This information was made known to our correspondent by the President of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Chibuzor Asomugha.

The ASUP President, Chibuzor Asomugha proclaimed that COEASU and ASUP have granted the government further compromise to end the ongoing strike within the next few weeks.

In an interview which was conducted in Awka, Asomugha said that ASUP hopes that in the coming week, it will meet again with the Supervising Minister of Education to conclude the processes to call off the strike.

The asup president also went forward to say that the Education Minister has taken the new position to the President during the Presidential meeting on the strike actions and immediate result is expected that will lead to the end of the strike.

We just pray to the Lord God Almighty, that nothing hinders this strike from been called off.
