Federal Government and ASUU at it Again: ASUU Strike to Continue

another heart touching message i received from a reader today, is about the Federal Government and ASUU at logger head again.

This is question which students are asking over and over again:

1. Should all the students go on strike?
2. Should the lecturers forsake teaching the students and burn down the infrastructure in our varsities?
3. Should both the lecturers and students demolish the monumental pillars and uproot the substratum and the foundations upon which universities are built?
4. Should the Deans also go on strike? Should promotion meetings with Appointments and Promotions Committee be avoided? 5. Should interview meetings for regularization of appointment of staff on temporary appointment be deserted?
6. Should post-UTME screening be not supervised again in Nigeria Varsities?
7. Should lecturers abandon classes while on recess?

Well, while thinking of this, it all leads to chaos.

This is a wise saying from Benjamin Franklin, which goes like this and we quote:

For the want of a nail, the shoe will not be lost,
For the want of a shoe, the horse will not be lost,
For the want of a horse, the rider will not be lost,
For the want of a rider the battle will not be lost,
For the want of a rider, the kingdom will not be lost,

all for the want of a horse-shoe-nail.

As students and future leaders of tomorrow, we should stand up and tel the Federal Government that they are required to should implement the ASUU-Federal Government agreement of 1999 so that education may be what it should be in Nigeria.
