MUST Read for all JAMBites 2014

After seeing how many persons (jambites) are confused in certain areas like “cutoff mark for admission into Universities and Polytechnics 2014”, I decided to write this short letter to you.

I also discovered that there are scammers online, who are asking students to pay them money to upgrade their JAMB RESULT.

However, we should all note that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Cut off mark for the majority of the Polytechnics in Nigeria is 160

However, one thing is most certain, is that The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination ‘UTME’ 2014 will go down in Nigeria history as the most controversial marked result ever.

This is mainly because of the rate at which most students scored less than 200! We discovered that over a total of 800,000 candidates had scores less than 200 unlike previous years, where the numbers are much higher.
Besides that, there are those who are yet to see their result because of the issue of biometric verification. Also Internet Fraudsters grew in their numbers this year, and they defrauded desperate JAMBites who want to upgrade their score, which is totally impossible.

Jamb 2014 result

• Some of the fraudsters sent bulk sms to the Jambites using Sender names bearing acronyms like: “JAMB” and “JAMB PORTAL”, and instructing the candidates to pay in particular amount of money into accounts for them to have their results upgraded for them.

Please note that JAMB will never send you message, and that you can never upgrade your score. Please don’t let these scammers use you to bank this year.

How can someone you don’t know upgrade your score?
I have also come across websites, where some persons will be claiming that some Professor has helped them upgrade their scores, please note that these are fraudsters and don’t have access to JAMB database.
They can even go as hard as documenting and using lamination to laminate results and say that they can also help you. It’s totally impossible and don’t allow anyone fool you into paying money into their account.

    • The National Universities commission have not yet released an updated list for 2014 on accredited courses in Nigerian universities, when it’s done, we’ll surely get you mailed.

  4. Please, can you explain to me what they meant by no biometric verification. is the fault from the candidates or jamb officials, because i knw fully well that if u do not register with finger prints, your name will not be in there register on that day of the exam, so hw come there is no biometeric verification, because on the day of the exam we all thumb printed before entering the hall, so i really dont understand.
Is our result cancelled, or could it be later released. Pls, i need to know. Thanks and Do reply.

    • it’s from your centre, but more than that Theresa, the JAMB board have not yet disclose what they’re planning on doing about candidates facing this issue, but we guess you need to keep re-checking your results on the jamb official portal.
