ASUP Strike 2014: Strike Will Continues As Polytechnic Lecturers And FG Meeting Ends In DEADLOCK

According to information been sent to us, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) are to continue the ongoing nationwide strike, because the meeting which the union leaders had with the Federal Government ended in Deadlock.

Well, as we all are aware of, the ASUP strike, which commenced from the 29th of April, July 17, 2013 in the first instance, and resumed the industrial action in early October, 2013.

According to our informat who was available at the meeting location, disclosed to us that the lecturers demand the following:
Better working conditions,
Infrastructure improvement,
ending the discrimination of polytechnic graduates, among other things.

Also speaking on the matter, is the National Publicity Secretary of ASUP, Clement Chairman, who confirmed the deadlock, also disclosing to news men that the Federal Government’s delegation was led to the Abuja meeting by the Minister of Labour, Chukwuemeka Wogu.
