According to information reaching Dailyschoolnews today, the Federal Government public relationship speaker has disclosed that the Ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics (ASUP) is nearing its end as the federal government has fulfill 80% of ASUP requests.
In a Statement which was disclosed to the public by the Supervising Minister Of education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, who said that the Fedewral Government has met about 80% of demands made by the ASUP Union, and hereby appeal to the Union to suspend the industrial action and make everything in Nigeria educational “fine” in the year 2014.
I guess federal government most needed accomplishment this year, is to solve everything patterning academic problems in Nigeria and we highly recommend this dream and action by federal government.
According to Mr. Wike who did revealed that the Government would pay the N20.8 billion arrears owed polytechnic Lecturers as soon as the procedure for payment was concluded.
This is to say that, having met over 80% of demands made by the Union, The education minister reveals that only the release of the white-paper on the implementation of their demands is left, for the Strike to be suspended.
SO i guess this xmas is one of the best for Nigerian students, including Polytechnics students, who have been at home since the strike commenced on 1st October 2013!.
We hope the federal government accomplish this! and please share this information with your friends using the share buttons below.
