Latest educational news reaching us today, is that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, is set to call off the strike in the next two weeks.
This is the latest Asup strike information.
I know this good news for all Polytechnics students, and we here at Dailyschoolnews are still hoping and prayingthat ASUP Governing body will not postponed the resumption date again, and according to one Nigeria top newspaper, the national president of ASUP, Dr Chibuzor Asumogba while been interviewed, said that the 73-days old ASUP strike will be called off in 2-weeks time.
The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Dr Chibuzor Asumogba has said that the 73-day old strike embarked on by the ASUP union will be called off in two weeks time. (so all polytechnics students get your bags ready)
This was even as the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr Nasir Isa Fagge told Vanguard that the 10-day-old varsity lecturers strike would continue.
Asumogba, in an interview after the meeting with the Joint National Assembly Committees on Education, indications emerged that the Federal Government would accede to their demands.
Asumogba said this: “Our meeting with the Senate Committee on Education was successful.
There was an agreement by the Fedreal Government to meet our demands in the next two weeks as the request will be presented to President Goodluck Jonathan for his approval.”
So all Polytechnics students should get on their knees praying, so that the president will approve it.
