The 2015 Jamb candidates are really going through several problems, and the issue is that no one knows where it’s coming from. According to latest breaking news reaching us today, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (jamb) has officially withdraws the 2016 admission list.
According to reports, JAMB authorities withdraws the 2016 admission list forwarded to various universities, asking candidates not to panic. But the question is this: Have our educational system turned to a joke?
How can the admission list, those who have been screened and approved for entrance into their choice Universities be withdraw?
Who gave this board that power?
What is their hidden agenda?
What is the step forward?
This breaking news was officially disclosed in a statement by the body’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. Here is what part of the statement said:
“The decision to withdraw the 2016 admission list, is to make sure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates, and thereby, refer it to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Honorable Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting”
For those who are not aware, the earlier jamb admission list was sent to help fast track the process of admission, which was to allow other tiers of academic institutions also conduct their admission.”
Mr. Fabian Benjamin went on to reassure candidates, asking them not to panic, because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. He also disclosed that this announcement is regretted by the JAMB authorities, because of the inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.
What do you think as a Jambite, Parent, Student and generally, as a citizen of Nigeria? 🙁
