The development was confirmed by the www.Dailyschoolnews.com.ng correspondent, who was able to gather the information from the Vice President of ASUP in YABATECH, Dr Adeoye Olowofoyeku.
The vice president disclosed that the agreement was reached at an emergency meeting of the NEC in Abuja on Saturday, and he also added that the suspension was to last for three months during which the Federal Government was expected to implement all the resolutions jointly reached by the union and the Nigeria federal government.
Here’s what the president said and we quote: “Our demands have not yet been met,” Dr Olowofoyeku said, “But we have had productive meetings with the new minister. The Re-assessment Committee has submitted their report to the minister. The suspension of the strike is to enable the federal government to begin the implementation, and if they fail to do so within the next 3 months, i fear what might happen then”.
