Nigeria Universities – Polytechnics and College of Education news Nigerian Educational News | Zenith Of Educational NewsThis is really good, as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has voiced their opinion to the current strike facing the Academic staff Union of Polytechnics and College of education Academic Staff Union (COEASU).
The Union through her president, pressed on the Federal Government to urgently resolve the contending issues that made lecturers of Polytechnics and colleges of education embark on strike.
According to the ASUU President, Dr Nasir Fagge, who made the call on Monday in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the state of the Nation.
Just in case you don’t know, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) have been on strike for the past ten months now, while Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, members have been on strike for the past 5 months.
We would also love you to note that members of the two unions demanded that the Federal Government should remove the dichotomy between HND and degree graduates.
Latest update reaching us after both union decided to join hands together and protest, the policemen, was said to have used tear gas to disperse the strikers.
However, Dr Nasir Fagge condemned the method used by policemen to disperse a peaceful protests embarked upon by ASUP and COEASU members last week in Abuja.
