Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) of Unilag Commence Admission for 2013

Latest educational news reaching us today, is that the HRDC is currently inviting Applications for admission into professional Diploma in Integrated Marketing Communications for the 2013/2014 academic session.

HRDC stands for The Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) in collaboration with the Certified Marketing Communications Institute of Nigeria (CMCIN) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admissions into a Part-time Professional Diploma Programme in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC).

Admission Requirements.
All applying candidates should make sure that they have SSCE/GCE (O’level or NECO) or equivalent with credits in at least Five (5) papers including the following subjects as mentioned below;
1. English,
2. Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.

Diploma,
Advanced Diploma,
NCE,
HND,
B.Sc from recognised tertiary institutions approved by Senate.

All applying candidates should have a relevant professional qualifications from recognised professional bodies.

it should also be noted that Matured candidates who are not less than 30 years of age with 5 (five) years relevant experience on the job but with lesser qualifications may be considered.

OBJECTIVES
The Course aims at providing a career in Integrated Marketing Communications with value-driven skills and knowledge of its components necessary to provide clarity, consistency and maximum communication impact through seamless integration of an organisation’s messages.

It will enable participants to cope with developments in global corporate alliances and attendant challenges which cannot be accomplished alone by a monolithic communication practitioner.

It will also equip participants with employable skills necessary to provide value-oriented and entrepreneurial support services for their employers or clients.

TARGET GROUPS
Members of Staff of Integrated Marketing Communications Agencies.
Executives from Public Relations, Events, Brand Management, Corporate Communication etc. Departments of private and public organisations.

Individuals from print and electronic media outfits.
Owners of creative collateral outfits e.g. voice-over artistes, producers of TV commercials etc.
Hot shops owners of IMC related fields
Prospective candidates with interest in Integrated Marketing Communication and related fields.

PROGRAMME DOMICILIATION

The programme is domiciled in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka.

DURATION: 9 Months (Saturdays only)
COMMENCEMENT DATE: September 21, 2013.
TUITION: N60, 000.00
COURSE MATERIAL FEE: N10, 000.00

How to Apply;
1. Log on the Human Resources Development Centre Portal: hrdc.unilag.edu.ng. Click on the Application Form Link.

2. Click the ‘pre-application form’ link; provide the required items of information and submit to obtain a Payment Reference Number (voucher).
Print the Payment Reference Number (voucher) and take the voucher to the bank to pay the Five Thousand Naira (N5, 000.00) Application Form Fee.

3. Make payment at UNILAG branch of any of the following designated banks: WEMA BANK PLC, ECOBANK PLC, ACCESS BANK PLC and FIRST BANK PLC.

4. After payment, return to Human Resources Development Centre Portal: hrdc.unilag.edu.ng, click the ‘Application‘ link, then the ‘Application Form’ Link, and login with Payment Reference Number as username and surname (in lowercase letters) as password.

5. Click the ‘Edit Application Form’ link to fill the Application form and upload digital passport-sized photograph (jpeg format).
The digital photograph should not be more than 15kb in size and must be in white background.

The acceptable dimensions are: width- 235 pixels or 35mm, height- 314 pixels or 40mm. Failure to comply with specified image format may lead to disqualification.

6. Click “SUBMIT FORM” button after filling the form completely; else click “DECLINE” button.

Please do note the following;
Applicants are required to print the completed Application Form and submit the print-out along with two (2) sets of credentials at the HRDC Secretariat, UNILAG, Akoka.

Payment must be made within five (5) days of obtaining the Payment Reference Number otherwise the pre-application would be DECLINED. Applicants will then be expected to refill the pre-application form to obtain a new Payment Reference Number.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS AND COLLECTION OF ADMISSION LETTER

Completed application forms are to be returned to the Human Resources Development Centre not later than three (3) weeks from the date of this publication.
The admission list will be published on: hrdc.unilag.edu.ng and www.unilag.edu.ng. Admission letters for shortlisted candidates are to be collected from the same office as Letters of Admission will not be posted to individual candidates.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION BY CMCIN

It is mandatory for candidates undertaking the Professional Diploma Programme to register and complete (for a fee) a specified stage of CMCIN Examinations before the end of the programme.
Successful candidates shall be awarded a double Professional Diploma in Integrated Marketing Communications from UNILAG and Licentiate Diploma in IMC from CMCIN/GCBMC.
