YES! ASUU Strike May be called off next week

Finally, it is over!, as Asuu strike has been fixed to be called off next week, here is the latest Asuu latest news:

Latest educational news reaching us today, is that ASUU Strike might be called off next week, this decision was reached after the meeting that took place on the 26th of July, which ASUU have with the Nigeria Federal Government.

According to information being sent to us, the current ongoing strike action taken by the Academic Staff Union of University, (ASUU) may likely be called off next week, this strike will be called off as a result of recent negotiation, which the ASUU body have with the Nigeria Federal Government on some outstanding issues.

Nigerian Students have noticed, that since the inauguration of Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state as the chairman of the implementation committee of needs assessment reports to Nigerian universities, the hope of parents and students have rise again, because the Governor will act as the mediator between Federal Government and ASUU.

We were also informed that ASUU governing body has also made agreements with most of the matters on desk, except for earned allowances and universities funding for infrastructural developments, which we guess would soon be resolved.

Meanwhile, the federal government have also commented on this issue and released a statement, which says that they will look into the two issues and hopefully resolve them by next week:

However, another Asuu and Federal government meeting has been fixed to hold on Monday, the 29th of July, 2013.
