This is one latest news as the Academic staff of the Bayero university Kano (BUK) did join in the students rally and protest against the current fuel subsidy removal in the country.
The ASUU members, who were also lecturers, joined in their students and other people in their community yesterday, at the Silver Jubilee roundabout to protest on the current removal of fuel subsidy
.
The protesters who were numbering over 30,000 carried placards, carbon papers with their own feelings inscribe on it plus others with green leaves complained of the level of rise in the cost of living in the school community following the fuel subsidy removal.
When Speaking on the matter, the president of the Bayero university Academic union, Dr. Mahmud Lawan, said they decided to join the protests to express their very own displeasure over Federal government ill-timed fuel subsidy removal.
Although the protest was peaceful and unlike others as no live was lost, and there was no injured persons reported.
The school community, which consist of the students and lecturers did called on the government to address the issue to avert similar cases.
But personally, i think this removal of fuel subsidy is good, because we’re sacrifing for the betterment of our children childrens in Nigeria.
A little displeasure shouldn’t cost such an uproar in a country like Nigeria.
But hey, everyone is entitled to his own choice, and i just spoke mine..
